I sat on the Sand Dunes At break of day, The Sea was a deep azure Blue. The Morning Tide Was beginning to turn, Reclaiming the soft white sand. Sandpipers pecked At invisible food, Starting their busy day. I felt the magnificence Of all I surveyed As the Sun rose over the mist. Shall I ever be able, As I picture it now, To tell of the freedom I felt? Fresh Dreams begin As the old ones depart, I’m flooded with the Hope of the dawn. The Absolute Peace I felt in that Hour Returns to encourage me Now. The incredible Sense, Conjured and recalled, With the painting of the ‘White Beach’! Elfrida June 2001
