When I mention these two exceptional Series of paintings to SIMBARI “fans” they think I am “joking” . . . but what many people do not know, is that Nicola has always loved SPEED! . . . when I first met him he was painting race horses and trotting horse races . . . and then of course, there are the horses of The Circus . . .
Ever since I have known Nicola he has always driven his cars like a Rallye Car !!!!
AUDI RALLYE CARS
Commissioned by AUDI’s Chairman Herr Wolfgang Habbell, in the early 1980s, after he had seen the Formula One Collection.
The AUDI Rallye Cars is a small inspired series of works by SIMBARI . . . this group of paintings is a little-known side-line to Nicola’s “usual” subjects! Nicola spent two months traveling with the Rallye . . .
