“ The Show that didn’t take place ” . . . !!
“ARTE e VINO” . . . to be held this week in Frascati, in
the famous
“Castelli Romani”, Nicola’s ‘home’ for over 40 years.

During this
significant time of the year of Grape-picking and Wine-making (a favourite ‘hobby’ of SIMBARI’s) . . . The Mayor of Frascati and the Council welcomed this exhibition as a Celebration of Simbari’s beautiful works and his Life, and to celebrate a very important moment of the Wine making season. |
How exciting .
. . after having resided and worked in this area for so
many years without any ‘local’ recognition . . . and at a time when he
is very
unwell . . . The works were ready to hang, the invitations were ready to send,
important collectors, long standing friends and many others were invited . . . the Special Opening
evening was to be ‘serenaded’ by a noted Roman guitarist, singing and playing Nicola's favourite Roman and
Neapolitan music . . . (Nicola would
sing these songs loudly, in his Studio, whilst painting!)
. . . and we
all hoped he would be well enough to be with
us to Celebrate his
amazing Life . . . and Talent . . . and have a “party”
- - - like in earlier
days.
BUT “no” . . . a
‘mean-spirit’, in his life of Now . . . decided to
ruin the Event
. . . and has (for now!) - - - It will not take
place.
I am devastated that
there will be no Celebration of SIMBARI and his
beautiful work, in Frascati, this week. So many Fans and Friends of
Nicola’s were promising to come, or be there in Spirit . . . I wish
Nicola knew how loved and admired he is and what pleasure so many people get from
his
Inspirational Art . . .
